The Blessing of the Fleet is a time-honored coastal tradition where local clergy bless the fishing boats and crews for a safe and prosperous season on the water. Rooted in faith, gratitude, and community, the ceremony honors Thunderbolt’s maritime heritage and the generations who have made their living on the river.
Parking is available at Johnson High School. It is a walkable distance from River Drive but we will also have shuttles running between the parking lot and festival. Street parking is also permitted where available.
Since the weather will be warm and sunny, we encourage attendees to bring sunscreen, fans, water, etc. Kids are encouraged to bring a towel since we will have a splash zone this year. Also bring some spending money to shop our amazing local vendors! (Hint: Mother's Day is around the corner)
